This is a resource pack which replaces the existing cubemap image objects with more realistic images in order to create a more Earth-like skybox. As this is something we’ve never seen done before (at least for the Bedrock Engine) it does appear to be a new game feature.

It does have some drawbacks though. For example, neither of the sky objects are animated (e.g. clouds or the sun). (Sun, moon etc will work soon with SSPE though!) But other than that, it’s a really cool graphics upgrade!

How to install Realistic Cubemap

1. Download the .mcpack file using the button on this page.
2. Open the downloaded file with Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
3. Wait for Minecraft to confirm that the import has completed.
4. Activate the imported pack in the world settings.
5. Back up important worlds before installing community content.
