Vegas Pro is real titanium of the market, which appeared in the last century and is often used on television. This is a professional version that does not spare beginners: the interface is not the simplest, and many functions are implemented in a not very obvious way. But in the presence of a huge number of effects, studio work with sound, support for almost all picture formats. There are several exclusive features such as object tracking, rendering of 3D models, and a tool for adding volumetric effects such as explosions, steam, and smoke.
Difficulty in mastering can scare off users involved in amateur video editing. However, with such an extensive selection of tools, this is hardly a disadvantage. On the net, you can find luxurious collections of plugins, titles, transitions, and other add-ons that will help you customize the software to your needs. The cost of Vegas Pro is impressive, but it is an adequate price for professional software.
What to mount on?
As a rule, video editors are extremely demanding on computer hardware. Especially when it comes to editing 4K footage with an abundance of effects and transitions. The size of the display and the quality of the matrix are also important because the comfort of video editing and the accuracy of color correction depend on them.
We tested the programs on the Honor MagicBook 15. This is a 2021 model with the current AMD Ryzen 5 5500U six-core processor. In the presence of up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a nimble SSD with a capacity of 512 GB. This filling is enough for the fast rendering of videos. A 30-minute 4K action camera footage was edited for about 20 minutes in DaVinci Resolve – pretty decent for a laptop with integrated graphics.
The laptop received a 15.6-inch display with Full HD resolution. The IPS matrix pleases with natural color reproduction, which allows you to accurately adjust all shades during installation. The picture can be easily displayed on an external monitor: a full-format HDMI connector is provided on the case. And if you forgot to take a memory with you, the ultrabook will autonomously last 4-5 hours when working with video – enough for editing a video or making edits to projects.
